Start with prequalification
Before choosing a unit, ask lenders whether they finance nonresidents of your nationality, the selected property type, ready versus off-plan status and your employment or business-income profile.
Prepare documentation
Banks may request identity, address, income, employment or company, bank-statement, credit and property documents. Self-employed applicants should expect additional verification.
Compare the full cost
Compare rate structure, effective cost, valuation, processing, insurance, early-settlement terms, required accounts and mortgage registration—not only the advertised interest rate.
Financing risk
A reservation deadline does not guarantee mortgage approval. Include a financing condition where appropriate and understand the consequences if approval or valuation falls short.
Questions American buyers ask
Can a U.S. resident get a Dubai mortgage?
Some UAE lenders offer nonresident products, subject to nationality, income, credit, property and bank criteria.
How much down payment will I need?
It varies by lender and borrower. Do not apply a resident headline loan-to-value to a nonresident deal without written confirmation.
Can I finance off-plan property?
Options depend on the lender, project stage and developer. Many off-plan purchases rely first on developer payment schedules.
